Description: 

This course is intended for local and state public information officers. The purpose of this program is to introduce participants to the function of the JIC during emergency situations as a component of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). More specifically, this course discusses the processes and resources needed to ensure that timely, accurate, and consistent information is disseminated to the public during emergency events.
