Description:
There are a total of nine modules in the Emergency Medical Services Operations and Planning for Weapons of Mass Destruction course. The course has been divided into three parts.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the proper use and limitations of ERG
- Identify hazardous on-site materials and locate information in the ERG using a product name and/or number
- Discuss biological weapons and their likelihood of threat
- Identify signs and symptoms of injuries resulting from biological weapons and implement treatment protocols in accordance with standard medical practice
- Choose agent specific Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for use during patient care based on hazards, risks, and available protective equipment
- List the indicators of an epidemiological event
- Discuss radiological agents and their likelihood of threat
- Identify signs and symptoms of injuries resulting from radiological agent and develop and implement treatment protocols in accordance with standard medical practice
- Choose agent-specific PPE for use during patient care based on hazards, risks, and available protective equipment
