Description: 

This training, offered by the Gillings School of Global Public Health, provides an introduction to public health surveillance and how it works. The different types of surveillance--passive, active, and syndromic--are discussed as are the applications of surveillance data, and some of the limitations and challenges involved in conducting surveillance. It is part of the E is for Epidemiology training series developed to introduce non-epidemiologists to the basic concepts of epidemiology.
